About the Artist
Cindy Free’s artwork focuses on dancers and other graceful creatures. Prior to creating bronze sculptures, she was immersed in the world of ballet and directed the Birmingham Ballet for 29 years. Through years of dancing, choreographing, and training dancers, she developed an intuitive understanding of the human figure in motion. She began her sculpting practice in sand while on vacations at the beach. Her passion for creating works in bronze grew out of her desire to create lasting works of beauty that would not wash away with the tide or disappear when the lights went out.
Most of Cindy Free’s bronze sculptures are cast in limited editions of 1 – 10 pieces. She accepts commissions for private collections as well as limited issues.
